Baku, 1 September 2026 — The Azerbaijan Textile Association (ATA) hosted a meeting between H.E. Berlian Helmy, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Azerbaijan, and senior representatives of Azerbaijan’s leading cotton-sector companies: GP Cotton Holdings , Azərpambıq ASK LLC, and Prime Cotton LLC.

The parties discussed Indonesia’s interest in importing Azerbaijani cotton and cotton yarn, including product specifications, potential annual volumes, delivery schedules and the anticipated timeframe for commencing supplies. The meeting also addressed opportunities to expand cooperation beyond commodity trade through joint investment and industrial partnerships.

“We look forward to expanding this dialogue into a broader discussion on strategic trade, investment and industrial cooperation during the visit of Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Investment to Baku in October,” said Ambassador Berlian Helmy.

“The greater long-term opportunity lies not only in purchasing cotton fiber, but in investing in yarn-processing capacity and creating additional value. We should explore the establishment of joint ventures with Indonesian investors and textile companies for yarn production in Azerbaijan, as well as potential cooperation in other markets,” said Farida Akhundova, Executive Director of ATA.

ATA will continue coordinating communication between the parties and supporting the development of practical commercial and investment proposals. The meeting marked an important step towards strengthening textile trade and building long-term industrial cooperation between Azerbaijan and Indonesia.
